A Dry Sink

Posted by

I love milk paint!! I love the way it chips in unexpected ways. I also love that it is 100% toxic free and I can use it inside the house with my kids around.

I remember the first time I tried it last year on a wardrobe. The first coat looked terrible but I didn't get discouraged. I waited a few hours and applied another coat and then one of the doors completely chipped. I didn't know about bounding agent back then so I kept painting over it, and didn't lose hope until I was happy with the results.

I've done a few pieces since then, and got more comfortable using milk paint.

Here is my latest one. I painted it the day I bought it...told you I get very excited with every new piece!

It's my first time using Sweet Pickins milk paint made by the Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company. I chose basil color. I was a little hesitant about the color as I mixed it. It was a little darker than I was anticipating so I mixed part of it with some yellow. I applied two different coats, one with basil color, and one with basil plus yellow. Love the way it turned out.
